The dosage for ProFe iron is 1-2 capsules daily as recommended by your healthcare provider. Iron supplements are best absorbed when taken with water on an empty stomach, but they can be taken with food.

ProFe vs. ProFe Vegan
Both ProFe and ProFe Vegan contain 180 mg of elemental iron.
The capsules are different:
ProFe capsules are made of bovine (beef) gelatin.
ProFe Vegan capsules are plant-based and dye-free.
ALLERGEN STATEMENT
ProFe and ProFe Vegan do NOT contain any of the US FDA's 9 major food allergens.
ProFe and ProFe Vegan do NOT contain milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, or sesame.
ProFe and ProFe Vegan capsules also do NOT contain any of the EU FIC (European Union Food Information for Consumers Regulation) listed allergens.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Iron is generally safe for most people when taken in appropriate amounts. However, always consult with your healthcare provider(s) before taking an iron supplement.
Iron supplements including ProFe and ProFe Vegan may interact negatively with the following medications:
Stomach medications such as cimetidine, famotidine, omeprazole, lansoprazole
Thyroid hormones
Zinc
Other iron supplements
